The Gravina is a classic, wooden work boat that has been completely renovated. Based in Anacortes, Washington,
the Gravina
is available for custom charters from Puget Sound to Southeast Alaska. The Gravina can carry up to six passsengers, along with the skipper and cook. For overnights, it can accommodate up to five. We have hot water, a shower, central heat, and a full galley, but the Gravina is still what it was built to be: a wooden work boat. When you travel on the Gravina, you experience over 80 years of tradition.

The Gravina was built in 1930 at the Gravina Island Marine Station in Ketchikan, Alaska, and originally named the Ranger 9 as part of the "Ranger fleet" of the
Tongass National Forest Service. Now owned by a former Alaska commerical fisherman who spent four years rebuilding it, the Gravina is a proven, seaworthy vessel that has been updated fully with modern
equipment and conveniences, and renamed. For a full story of the Gravina and its captain CLICK HERE.

The Gravina is available for all varieties of custom charters - from a day-trip to a two-week trip. We are available anywhere on the Inside Passage, from Puget Sound to British Columbia to Southeast Alaska, pending availability.
We have taken film crews, kayakers, photographers, sports fishermen, naturalists, and scientists on the Gravina - some for work and some for play.
We negotiate our rates as best we can to suit both you and us. OUR RATES ALWAYS VARY, depending on the location, amount of travel, time of year, and number of people.

Our overnight rate is $1,500 per day with 4 passengers, with full use of the boat and skipper, as well as a cook. Fuel and groceries are included.
